Are any countries seriously trying to tackle the climate crisis?

LIMA, Peru — With floods, droughts, forest fires and extreme storms on the rise, President Barack Obama has been attempting to reassert US leadership in the fight against climate change.
Earlier this month, the White House revealed plans to drastically curb emissions from coal plants. That move alone — which does not require Congress’s approval — will slashthe US carbon footprint 12 percent by 2030.
It will also help the US meet its voluntary pledge to shrink its 2005 carbon footprint 17 percent by 2020. That might sound like a lot, but many scientists argue that, like most other nations’ climate change promises, it is nowhere near enough.
So, as negotiators frantically attempt to agree on a new United Nations climate treaty, due to be inked in Paris late next year, how does the rest of the world stack up to the US when it comes to tackling the climate crisis?

Jennifer Lopez

The 44-year-old singer nearly suffered a nip slip Tuesday at the New York City release party for her A.K.A. album. However, thanks to some pre-planning (and perhaps an unwillingness to free-boob in public), J.Lo was wearing pasties—one of which peeked out and saved the day when her strapless pink dress rode down.
That's not to say that the mother of two hasn't suffered from a full-blown wardrobemalfunction before (who hasn't flashed their Spanx at some point?), but she clearly knows how to dress her fantastic figure. The newly single star insists, though, that her body isn't that of a typical woman in Hollywood.
"I'm not a size 0 or 2. I'm not 6-feet-tall like a lot of the models that come around, and I'm like, ‘Wow, I'm really short compared to models!'," she told Vogue in a 2012 interview. "I'm just a regular woman. I wear a size 6. You know, when I eat a little too much over the holidays, maybe a size 8. When I'm in shape, maybe a size 4."
And just in case Jenny from the Block ever begins to doubt herself, she wears a diamond ring on her finger that spells out "I LOVE ME." She realizes, she said, "That may sound conceited, but it's not."
"If you don't love yourself, you can't love anybody else," she explained. "And I think as women we really forget that. All we want is to be happy, to feel secure, to feel understood. But you can't look for somebody else to do that for you. You think about it. Oh, yeah, of course I care about myself. Of course I have good self-esteem. But when you really take a good look, you are not treating yourself like someone who does. And when you let people treat you in a way that you don't want to be treated, it's not their fault. It's yours."

Panther to pounce

Panther to pounce

Panther to pounce

As I sit writing this we have enjoyed one day of Royal Ascot and the second is about to get underway.
The meeting got off to a good start for punters, including followers of this blog; let’s hope we are saying the same in a few hours!
Thursday means Gold Cup day. The Queen’s horse Estimate made history when she won the race last year and she’s back in a bid to repeat last year’s victory, but the race looks much more competitive this time round.
Things have apparently not gone completely smoothly with her preparation, but one thing’s for sure, if Sir Michael Stoute is running then she’s 100% ready to defend her crown. She will enjoy the faster ground, but disappointed in the Champions Long Distance Cup at this track in October and this is her first run since. She looks worth opposing.
Leading Light is clear favourite to win for Aidan and Joseph O’Brien and last year’s St Leger winner got his season off to the best possible start when beating another of his rivals, Royal Diamond, in the Vintage Crop Stakes last month.
It was a good performance from both runners and Johnny Murtagh’s Royal Diamond could be a fair each way bet as he is a tough stayer who has shown his liking for this track before when winning that Long Distance Cup on Champions Day.
Leading Light will be short enough and for that reason he can be taken on too.
I think Brown Panther could be the one for trainer Tom Dascombe and owner/breeder Michael Owen. He’s six years old now and is really maturing as a top class stayer. He has won both his starts this term, firstly at Chester in the Ormonde and then in the Henry II Stakes at Sandown and is better than ever.
There doesn’t seem to be any reason he shouldn’t stay the trip and whilst his best form has come with cut in the ground the ground, he has run some very good races on good to firm in the past and is a much improved performer now.
"There doesn’t seem to be any reason he shouldn’t stay the trip and whilst his best form has come with cut in the ground the ground, he has run some very good races on good to firm in the past and is a much improved performer now."
Dascombe’s horses have been running consistently well and this horse can give him the biggest win of his career to date.
I’d be keen enough to take on the protagonists in the Ribblesdale Stakes. Wonderstruck impressed me when she won a mile and a half maiden at Newmarket on her second start and whilst this is a big step up for her, she seems to have bags of potential.
The William Haggas-trained filly claimed the scalp of none other than the most expensive yearling sold at public auction in 2012, Hydrogen, there (in fact he was well beaten) and the form of her debut third has worked out very well. She is a real blue blood being by the great Sea the Stars and a half-sister to George Washington and Grandera amongst others.
The family can be quirky and she did hang at Newmarket when winning, but it hasn’t stopped any of her classy relatives and given the leap in grade she should be a fair price.
French raider Vazira is one of the main protagonists on the book and another daughter of Sea The Stars. She is trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre for the Aga Khan and was only just beaten in a Group One at Longchamp last time out.
That was over a mile and a quarter and the step up to this mile and a half looks like it should suit well.
The Peter Chapple-Hyam trained Inchila caught the eye when running above her 40/1 starting price by finishing fourth in the Investec Oaks last time out. That was her first try at the trip and she certainly wasn’t stopping at the end after a patient ride. It’s Wonderstruck for me, she looks a classy filly in the making and this could be the start of it for her.
The Coronation Stakes is Friday’s feature and there is a classy entry for this Group One for three-year-old fillies over a mile of the round course. We have been waiting a while to see My Titania this season as John Oxx has had to delay her return to action due to a slight setback before the 1000 Guineas and then the soft ground ruled her out of the Irish equivalent.
She ran three times as a juvenile and didn’t do much wrong. She has a tendency to ease up once she hits the front and did that when winning the Park Stakes at the Curragh last September, but the race has worked out pretty well; the third was none other than Tarfasha who finished second in the Oaks earlier this month. She is another by Sea the Stars and gave him his first Group winner as a stallion. He is really making his mark in the breeding world; it could be a pivotal week for the stallion.
The Olly Stevens trained Lightning Thunder has finished second in two Guineas already this season and it appears that her regular jockey Harry Bentley has paid the price for the double defeat as Olivier Peslier will take over on Friday. It can be a tough industry, but her chances won’t be harmed by the booking of Peslier and she deserves compensation for those near misses.
Rizeena missed the Irish Guineas after a trickle of blood was found in her nostril after a piece of work. That isn’t a worry, but her performance at Newmarket could be and I wonder if this trip just stretches her a bit.
Kiyoshi comes here a fresh horse as this is her first run since finishing third in the Cheveley Park Stakes last September. It is a slight concern that the ground is quickening up as she prefers to get her toe in, but she’s a classy filly despite what were one or two wayward performances as a juvenile. She did win the Albany at this meeting on quick ground last year though.
Sandiva disappointed in the Guineas, but beat subsequent Guineas fifth Euro Charline in the Nell Gwyn and it’s hard to say if this mile trip is her optimum, but she deserves another try at it despite her Guineas flop.
Lucky Kristale was another who ran below expectations in the Guineas, but George Margarson is having another bash at the mile trip and I hope she runs a decent race for her hard working connections.  In form Richard Hughes rides her for the first time. If she doesn’t run well here then it could be that she drops in trip in future. It’s a tricky race and there a few fillies I haven’t mentioned who could bounce back after disappointing efforts, but I’m going to side with My Titania.
  • Best Odds Guaranteed all races at Royal Ascot!
Also on Friday I like the look of Just the Judge in the Wolferton Handicap. I fancied her for the Group Three Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom last time out on her second start of the season and she ran a good race to finish third. She was given a patient ride and stayed on well never troubling the winner Thistle Bird. Compensation could await here for Charlie Hills and Jamie Spencer.
Saturday is the final day and it’s not an easy one for punters.
The feature is the Diamond Jubilee and Tuesday’s King’s Stand winner Sole Power will not run in this six furlong contest after that impressive win as he is tired after his efforts.
His stablemate, Slade Power, is in the reckoning, although I’m concerned there won’t be enough give in the ground for him as fast times have been the order of the day so far and there is no significant rain forecast.
Aljamaaheer represents Roger Varian and he must have strong claims over a trip he is unexposed over. Last term he was running in some of the top mile contest with credit. He was third in the Lockinge, second in the Queen Anne and he won the Group Two Summer Mile at this track. He dropped in trip and ran over six furlongs on his first run this term and looked unlucky not to win the Abernant at Newmarket for which he was well fancied.
He is the sort of horse that needs holding up and luck in running, but looks hard to leave out of equations.
Gordon Lord Byron is a consistent performer over a variety of trips too and has been acquitted himself well from six furlongs to a mile. Drying ground could be an issue for him too though sadly.
Due Diligence has won three of his five starts for Aidan O’Brien and is only a three-year-old. He likes fast turf and started his life in America and is one to keep on the right side of. He was impressive at Naas last time out and looks to have a huge amount of potential.
Like Due Diligence, Astaire is a member of the Classic generation. Kevin Ryan, who trains the colt, will know how smart he is as he is also responsible for Hot Streak, who ran well in the King’s Stand on Tuesday.
Astaire won the Gimcrack and Middle Park last year and started his season in the Greenham, but his trainer has decided to stick to sprinting with him. He ran well to be second to Maarek over six furlongs at York last time out and there should be more to come.
Maarek reopposes, but the ground doesn’t look like being in his favour. Pearl Secret also ran on Tuesday, but is another that seems ground dependent and unless there is an unexpected shower it won’t go his way.
With so many of the possible runners looking in need of significant rain (or watering!) I’m going for a sprinter who looks to have lots of potential in Aljamaaheer with Due Diligence also on my shortlist.
That leaves us with just the small matter of the Wokingham Handicap, with a maximum field of 30 for this six furlong contest. It’s difficult to give a strong view before declarations have been made, but Rocky Ground staked his claim for this race at Windsor earlier this month.
You may remember he slipped up after the post, unshipping Andrea Atzeni on that day. He’s a lightly raced horse who looks capable of progressing into Group company at some point.
Intrinsic would have strong claims if he gets a run, but that’s not certain. If he does he could be well handicapped. It looks like it could be a good day for Newmarket trainer Roger Varian as he trains both my selections on Saturday!

Kader Siddique The hero of Bangladesh

Kader Siddique

Kader Siddique The hero of Bangladesh

Kader Siddiqui often hailed as Bagha (Tiger) Kader or Bongo Bir (Hero of Bengal) is one of the most famous fighters and organizers of the Bangladeshi liberation war. Siddiqui has to be decorated as bir uttom by the government of Bangladesh. He organized and fought with an estimated 10,000-strong guerrilla force[in the Tangailregion against the Pakistan Army. This army was called kadaria bahini(Kader's Army). At the end of the war, on December 16, Siddique's forces entered Dhaka along with the Indian forces signalling the end of the war.
Involvement in massacres of prisoners of war
According to a report in The Times, Siddiqui's guerrillas beat up and subsequently bayoneted and shot to death a group of prisoners (who they claimed were Razakar) after a rally held near Dhaka Stadium on December 19, at which Siddiqui himself gave an hour long speech. The prisoners were murdered after performing Islamic prayers together with their captors. According to the same source, shortly before murdering them, the Muktibahini soldiers promised the prisoners 'a fair trial, as in any civilized country'.
Abdul Kader Siddiqui personally bayoneted three prisoners to death and the entire incident was filmed by foreign film crews whom Siddiqui invited to witness the spectacle.Siddiqui was subsequently arrested by the Indian Army.
Siddiqui discussed his involvement in the murders in an interview with Yesmin Saika, the author of 'Women, War and Making Bangladesh: Remembering 1971'. After describing an event in which Siddiqui shot a Mukti bahini soldier for stealing a shawl from a Bengali civilian, Saikia states, referring to the Dhaka stadium incident, that 'at the time he did not think of his act as a crime against humanity, being swayed by the Bengali public sentiment for revenge. Today he knows that both the acts - killing a younger soldier for a petty theft and killing the Biharis for being different from the Bengalis - were public acts of violence disguised under the label of national morale to establish the power of the Bengalis and claim victory, but they were violent acts, nonetheless, and he is pained by his past'.
Siddiqui was never tried for these crimes
After East Pakistan seceded from West Pakistan and became Bangladesh, Siddiqui went back to his home town of tangail where he enjoyed considerable patronage from the Awami League, the party of then Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Muzibur rahaman.
After the assassination of Mujibur Rahman in 1975, Siddiqui and his followers organised attacks on the authorities of Khondokar Mostaq's government. Elements loyal to Siddiqui operated from bases in Assam province in India and were actively supported by India's Border Security Force.
Siddiqui was an MP in the parliament of Bangladesh. In March 2013, he accused the Bangladesh Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir of hypocrisy in domestic war crimes trials, calling him an ultra Razakar. He stated, "The current Home Minister was an officer of the Pakistan Government. During the Liberation War...the Pakistan Army massacred people with the assistance of Dr Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir.

Tangail, around 70 kilometres north of Dhaka, was freed from the occupation of Pakistan army on 11 December in1971.
The occupation forces retreated to Dhaka from Tangail as around 2,000 paratroopers of the allied (mitra) forces landed at Poulee near Tangail town on December 10. The freedom fighters entered the town on the following day and hoisted the flag of independent Bangladesh.
Tangail district unit of Swadhin Bangla Gono Mukti Parishad was formed in the first of March in 1971. The parishad organised the local youths and arranged a military training programme for them.
Soon after army crackdown on unarmed Bangalees on the night of March 26 in Dhaka, local freedom fighters set up blockades on the road to Tangail at Goran-Satiachara in Mirzapur. On April 3, the Pakistani army entered Tangail, breaking the blockades and captured the district headquarters.
Within the next few days, the then Chhatra League leader Abdul Kader Siddique formed Kaderia Bahini, comprising the local freedom fighters and started fighting with the occupation forces at different places in the district. Many guerilla operations, launched by Kaderia Bahini against Pakistan army, were successful.
Another group of freedom fighters led by Khandaker Abdul Baten also fought against Pakistan army in different areas of Tangail.
To mark the day, different socio-cultural and political organisations will take out colourful processions in the town and hold discussion meetings.

Tangail district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad will also bring out a procession in the town and hold a rally. Local people and freedom fighters will place wreaths at the memorial for the martyred freedom fighters at Shaheed Smriti Poura Udyan in the morning.

Private University, in damager moods……in nature….

Private university in Bangladesh are now increasing day by day .It is one hand of good news but there is also some bad news. That is the qualities of these universities are not satisfactory. The first reason is that Private Universities are made only for business not for education. Sometimes some universities give certificate without any education to student. In easy sense they sell the certificate. IT seems very harsh to hear but it is the reality. In Bangladesh the private university is built illegally without taking any and of permission of the Govt. there iis a approval committee the can approve the application of for setting up private university. There is no enough places in the private university. Student cannot expose their views among them for the lack of the free place. All the teachers in those universities are not well educated. Sometimes some teachers’ in public universities come to the private universities and take classes. The reason behind it is not very suitable. The amount which is given by the private universities authorities’ is larger than the govt. payment. The youth who are not admitted the war of public universities admission are taken by the private universities. There are some causes behind the youth failure in private universities:
1.after the admission failure all the staffs are surrounded by him/her are made him/her realize that you are nothing and now you are a piece of cake.
2. There is a rumor that job market is totally give importance to the public university students. So, it is makes him/her weak to fight against the cruel world.
3. Some universities give the maximum free in the education time.
4. There are not any hard and fast rules in private university.
5. There is no need of attendance in the class. Because the question paper is always easy are some short suggestion is given.

All these miss style of education makes a fake educative world which looks beautiful in appearance but indigestible in nature..

The back footed youth and reasons

image of back footed youth

Youths are the developers of a nation. They are the makers of nation fortune. Nation development goal is actually related to youth development. In developing country it is very much essential for the development of develop the youth structure. But the flow of youth development is now is vain. Some kind of disarrangement is now prevailed. Most of the youth is now engaged with drug and other anti social activities. It is a bad sign for any developing country. An example of Bangladesh youth is filled up with lot of anti nation work like drug addiction, prostitution, gambling, betting, and other anti human ate works. But what is the reason. Actually there is an invisible hand of third party who controls the chain. The talent of the youth is immeasurable. But it creates a threat to the entire developed nation to impose their decision on to the developing nation. So they start to make the youth sleepy by drug and high level prostitution. This creates a high class damage in social infrastructure. There are some causes behind this situation.they are:
1. Reduce the country love
2. Because of them family balance in society is hampered
3. Youth is now in physiological problem. They cannot decide what is wrong and what is right.
4. The economic balance is now in out of control. All sorts of money is now running throw to the side of destruction.
5. Educational sector is now in low quality education maker. Their work is to established the stage of enlighten education. But because of the greed of money the demolish the quality and give importance to quantity.

All these reasons and elements are the main culprits also the result of going backward although having some good qualities to be a developed country because  Bangladesh is the country proving the example that country is more important than anything….

Prostitution breaks all records in Bangladesh

Prostitution breaks all records in Bangladesh

Prostitution

Beside drug anew dynamic prostitution business is spread out all over Bangladesh. In Bangladesh there are many residential hotels an also some rental houses are this prostitution business. There is a strong broker syndicate who works as a media and maintains a link with administration and with local police. This syndicate gives a huge amount of money to the authority for protection. The local and electric media are also linked with this syndicate. Because this   kind of links the anti social business is running out geometrically. This damages the fame of the fame of The Educational city. The youth is going to be destroyed by this business. It has to be stooped. The innocent people   feel cursed because of this anti social business. The gentle people want to stop this. Local administration has to be strict and enforce law against these businessmen…

The general family is on sunk in BETTING

The general family is on sunk in BETTING

The betting

The betting   is now spreading out variously in Bangladesh. Like many countries Bangladesh is floating on betting. Mainly drug addicted people play it regularly .Besides some gentle people also involve in this sector because it is very easy to get huge amount of money by betting. Bangladesh also is in the fever of betting. The youth involves generally in this sector. In different part of the city there are many particular places for betting. In shops like flex e load is the better place for betting. Because youth gathers much. The owner of the shop runs the board .The both side betters gives their money to that shop. After the game the winner takes the money. If any better cannot give money then his any valuable things can be kept as mortgage. This kind of incidents create social imbalance. Many Anti social activities happen in the city. Some big persons involve and give shelter to the board owner. Sometimes general people complain to the police but the board owner gives an amount to shut up the police. So, the local leaders and the police are also benefited by the betting business. This betting business also the cause of the increasing rate of drug. Because it is the easiest way to collect money for the drug. Sometimes lives are also wasted for betting. This kind of anti social and anti humanitarian work has to be stopped by implying great force or awareness.
